CBSE Will not Give Second Attempt For Board Practical Exams

The students are required to participate in the CBSE board practical examinations according to the designated timetable, as there will be no opportunity for a second attempt to take the practical exams.

New Delhi: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued a circular in anticipation of the board practical examinations, internal assessments, and project evaluations for the 2023-24 academic session. The examinations are slated to commence on January 1, 2024.

The CBSE has instructed schools to promptly make the appropriate arrangements, including the preparation and supply of laboratories, as well as the identification of internal examiners.

The board has required the schools to publicly release the list of candidates (LOC) who will be participating in the practical tests and verify that the pupils are accurately included under the appropriate list. The schools must guarantee that the accurate courses and student categories, such as regular/compartment/improvement, are accurately shown in the internet system.

When assigning grades for practical tests, schools must make sure to record marks based on the accurate maximum marks specified in the circular that outlines the distribution of marks.

Students taking the exam should verify that their subjects of study are accurately represented in the list of candidates provided by their schools.

It is important for the students and parents to have knowledge of the curriculum and the specific disciplines in which practical tests will be administered. The students are required to participate in the practical tests according to the predetermined schedule, since the Board will not offer any opportunity for another go in the practical exams.

The board has instructed the Regional Offices to ensure that all schools finish the practical examinations within the specified timeframe and also upload the corresponding marks.

Prior to the initiation of practical examinations in class and topics, the Regional Offices should secure the appointment of external examiners in all schools, when applicable.

The Regional Offices must guarantee that Practical Answer Books are given to the school prior to the start of practical examinations.
